Jacob K Slate enters the ADCC US Open in Portland rated at 7,845 Jits — the highest-rated youth fighter at any tournament this weekend. He loses twice. Ian Mondragon submits him, closing a 5,715-Jits gap with a 0.1% win probability. Jake Morris Scharf submits him again, closing a 4,824-Jits gap. The same fighter, same tournament, two different opponents, two submissions.
Twelve tournaments across eight organizations produce 5,896 matches this weekend. Grappling Industries New Hampshire leads with 1,148. NAGA Denver follows at 705. And in Fresno, Atticus Vitug of Elite Team International walks in on a 33-win streak and walks out 33-2.
Star Performances

Guthrie enters rated at 5,840 Jits. Three different fighters beat him at the same tournament — Ballard by submission, Mason Pack by points, and Victor Hicks by points. Three upsets, one target.
At ADCC Portland, the submission rate hits 70% — the highest of any tournament this weekend. Charlie Bowers of Royal Jiu Jitsu embodies the ruleset: five submissions in six matches. Raphael Joseph Pesce matches the finish rate at Newbreed Augusta with six submissions in six matches.
The Deep Brackets
Ten matches, ten wins across Gi and No Gi at Grappling Industries New Hampshire. Rises to Elite tier at 4,141 Jits.
Twelve matches in one day. Six wins in his deep bracket division plus five more across other divisions. Only one loss on the card.
Grappling Industries New Hampshire produces five separate six-win bracket runs — the deepest concentration of long brackets at a single event this season. Marin Alexander, Paul Sablone, Goga Indutnyi, Samuel Banhos, and a fifth fighter each win six straight in their respective divisions.
Grappling Industries Montana contributes another six-win run from Kevin Barth of GVMA Gallatin Valley Martial Arts in the white belt division. Alexander enters New Hampshire at 7,121 Jits — the highest-rated fighter in any deep bracket this weekend.
Upsets and Surprises

Looking Ahead
ADCC Portland's 70% submission rate is the highest we have recorded at a tournament this season. The ADCC ruleset rewards finishes, and the numbers prove it. As February closes, the circuit rolls into March with nearly 15,000 matches logged across the last three weekends.
