Jits.gg ("we," "us," "our") operates jits.gg, a sports analytics platform for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use our Service.

When you create an account via Google OAuth:

• Name (from your Google profile)
• Email address (from your Google profile)
• Google account identifier

When you create an account via email magic link:

• Email address (as provided by you)

When you subscribe to updates on the site (e.g., fighter ranking updates, academy performance alerts, general newsletter):

• Email address
• Subscription context (which fighter or academy you subscribed to, or general)
• IP address (for rate limiting and abuse prevention)

You may unsubscribe at any time by contacting support@jits.gg.

We collect and display publicly available tournament data from public sporting events, including: fighter names, academy affiliations, match results, win/loss records, placement records, belt ranks, age divisions, and weight classes. This data is sourced from publicly available tournament brackets, results pages, and registration lists published by tournament organizations including JJWL, IBJJF, and others.

This data is collected from public sources regardless of whether any individual has an account on Jits.gg. It is public record from public sporting events. For more information about our approach to tournament data, see our About Our Data page.

When you use the Service, we automatically collect:

• IP address
• Browser type, version, and language
• Device type and operating system
• Pages visited, time spent, and navigation patterns
• Referring URL and search terms

This is collected via server logs and standard web analytics.

We want to be explicit about what we do not collect:

• Date of birth or age of any user
• Home address or school name of any user
• Phone number of any user
• Government identification of any user
• Financial information (we do not process payments at this time)
• Location data beyond IP-derived approximate region
• Direct messages or private communications between users (the Service does not offer messaging)

• Provide, operate, and maintain the Service
• Send transactional communications (account notifications, sign-in links)
• Send marketing communications (tournament results, new features) — you may opt out at any time
• Monitor and analyze usage to improve the Service
• Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.

We may share information with:

• Service providers who assist in operating the Service (hosting, email delivery, analytics), bound by confidentiality obligations
• Law enforcement or government authorities when required by law, subpoena, or court order, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect safety
• In connection with a merger, acquisition, bankruptcy, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, with notice to affected users

Jits.gg displays publicly available tournament statistics for athletes of all ages. This data is sourced from public sporting events and is displayed as a matter of public record, regardless of the athlete's age.

No one is required to create an account to appear on Jits.gg. Tournament data is displayed based on publicly available results, not user accounts. Account creation is entirely optional and provides access to features like email alerts and scouting tools — it does not affect what tournament data is displayed.

For account creation, Jits.gg requires authentication via Google OAuth or email magic link. Google requires users to be at least 13 years of age to create a Google account per Google's Terms of Service. Jits.gg relies on Google's age verification and compliance systems. Jits.gg does not independently collect, store, or verify the date of birth or age of any user.

We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately at support@jits.gg and we will take prompt steps to delete such information.

• Account data: Retained while your account is active. Deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
• Email subscriptions: Retained while subscription is active. Deleted within 30 days of unsubscribe request.
• Tournament data: Retained indefinitely as public sports records.
• Server logs: Retained for 90 days, then deleted or anonymized.
• Analytics data: Retained in aggregate (non-personally-identifiable) form indefinitely.

We implement reasonable technical and organizational security measures including:

• Encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all data in transit
• Secure authentication via OAuth 2.0 (Google) and cryptographic magic links
• Role-based access controls on administrative systems
• Database encryption at rest
• Regular security reviews

No method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security but will notify affected users of any data breach as required by applicable law.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate personal information
• Request deletion of your personal information (subject to legal retention requirements)
• Object to or restrict processing of your personal information
• Data portability (receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format)
• Withdraw consent at any time (where processing is based on consent)

You can delete your account directly from your dashboard. For other requests, contact support@jits.gg. We will respond within 30 days.

California residents: Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), you have additional rights including the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.

Tournament statistics are public records of public sporting events and are displayed independently of any user account. They are not subject to deletion requests as they do not constitute personal information collected from you by Jits.gg.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services.

The Service is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer.

The Service does not currently respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be indicated by updating the "Last Updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
