Los Angeles Kids 2024 produced 145 gold medalists in SoCal's annual winter-spring youth showcase. The event drew from the massive Los Angeles metro area jiu-jitsu community, where the concentration of elite academies creates some of the deepest youth brackets in the country.
The 145-gold count reflected the enormous scale of LA's youth scene, where programs like AOJ, Alliance, Gracie Barra, Atos, Carlson Gracie, CheckMat, and dozens of independents all compete for local supremacy. For many competitors, LA Kids is the first major IBJJF event of the calendar year.
Los Angeles remains the epicenter of American youth jiu-jitsu by sheer volume, and the Kids event is one of several IBJJF competitions the city hosts annually — each drawing hundreds of families from across Southern California and beyond.
